Hypnotherapy is a technique that enables changes in perception and memory. Clients experience an increase in their response to the therapist's suggestion, allowing the client to have potential control over many physiological functions that are usually involuntary and/or habit forming. Hypnotherapy is a safe, guided relaxation which induces a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance. The client's attention is so focused while in this state that anything going on around the person is temporarily blocked or ignored. In this naturally occurring state and with the
help of a trained therapist such as myself, the client may focus his or her attention on specific
thoughts or tasks.
